Aptos threads
What is the difference between absorbable and non-absorbable threads?

Absorbable and non-absorbable threads differ in thread composition. Non-absorbable threads consist of polypropylene, surgical suturing material that is used in surgery for more than 50 years. Absorbable threads are composed of polylactic acid in combination with caprolactone.

Absorbable threads have double action of immediate lifting and collagen regenerating effect. As absorbable threads start absorption, polylactic acid helps skin boost its natural collagen, thus further redefining your skin and achieving longer result.

Results after non-absorbable threads lasts from 2.5 to 5 years, for absorbable threads – from 1.5 to 2 years. Besides, non-absorbable threads are used more in older patients with heavy tissues.
